Jack Lee.

I don't care what the future holds, cause I'm right here and I'm today.
Today I saw this. An incredibly unique film but one that I quite enjoyed. Basically Tom Hardy (the only on-screen character) drives from Birmingham to London and on the way has a series of phone calls that alter his life dramatically.

Okay Tumblr, time for a rare treat; an update on my life. Only tend to get probably 1 or 2 a year of these on average, so enjoy! (Blatantly gonna be read by about 3 people).

So it’s actually been a pretty eventful few months and weeks. Basically, I’ve moved out, broken up with a partner, moved back home, and next week am starting a new job (sort of).

House-wise, it sucks that I had to leave the flat, I absolutely loved it. And for the second time in a few years, having my independence interrupted by the returning parents (although this time it’s me returning to them, and I’m very grateful of course) has also been very hard.

On the job front, although I’m staying with the same company, as of Tuesday I’m starting at a new store and in a new role, as a department manager. It’s big step up, and I’m very wary that I have no management experience in me whatsoever, but I’m very pleased and equally excited that my name was put forward and I have this opportunity. I work very hard and have done for a long time, and it’s nice that the right people have noticed this. It’s going to be a huge change, and is quite a daunting prospect, but a change in my everyday working life is just what I was seeking this year, and I’m itching to get to grips with it all and hopefully settle in adequately.

Long-term, now I have fewer ties in my personal life (girlfriend and flat, not that they were a burden of course), I’m feeling very optimistic about what the future might hold. Some kind of extended travelling adventure, like a couple of close friends have enjoyed in recent years, is one prospect often in the back of my mind, and should now be something much more realistic financially, or at least will be soon. So yeah, watch this space.

I’ll leave it there for now. Hope my legions of followers are all well. Happy Easter y’all. x

a little lost, and utterly spent, but a well and truly good Friday. #cycling #Felley
